Stakeholder meeting on the Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA) at the WGC

We will bring stakeholders together to discuss the GGA in Melbourne.

Time: Wed 22 April from 17.30 – 19.00

Location: TBC (most likely Room 218), Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne, Australia

The Global Geothermal Alliance (GGA) concept was first introduced at the Abu Dhabi Ascent meeting on May 2014 and subsequently in Iceland and New York.

The Alliance aims to bring together stakeholders in geothermal development including governments, international financing institutions, private investors and other practitioners to cooperate in the geothermal energy development. Collaboration focus areas include: resource assessment; enabling frameworks for investment (including institutional setup and laws and regulations for resource development and exploitation); supportive policies to attract private investors; benchmarking of financing schemes; innovative financing and risk mitigation mechanisms; and capacity building.
