Results of the IGA Board of Directors Elections for 2016-2019

The new IGA Board of Directors (BoD) for the period 2016-2019 has been elected.

In May 2016, the IGA Secretariat sent out personal Emails to all members with voting rights informing about the election procedures and individual voting passwords for the IGA online voting platform.

As conducted previously, the election material was only in few cases sent out by postal mail. Thus, we wish to encourage all IGA members to share their e-mail address with us.

The election was also announced in the last IGA Newsletter No 103 in early April 2016 and on the IGA website. The voting platform was open from 20 May until 19 July, 2016. All votes were processed by the IGA IT administrator at the Secretariat.

Table 1 shows the election statistics including the number of eligible voters of 4,650 IGA members. A total of 1,394 votes were received.

Table 2 reflects the geographical distribution of the counted ballots, which also shows the percentage of ballots received from each country out of the total number of eligible voters from the respective country.

Table 3 shows the election results with names of all elected and non-elected candidates in alphabetical order.

The IGA President approved the results and the candidates were notified. It should be pointed out that the number of participants has increased considerably since the last election in 2013. Votes increased from 880 in 2013 to 1,394 in 2016. Thus, the election participation has increased to 30% of the entire IGA membership, compared to 16.9% in 2013.

We wish to congratulate the new IGA Board.
