Coordinating Officer - International Research and Education

The International Geothermal Centre (GZB) operates the secretariat of the International Geothermal Association (IGA). GZB is a research institute for geothermal science and technologies with a world class infrastructure. The IGA is a scientific, educational and cultural organization, established to operate worldwide in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and Partner of the European Union for the Campaign for Take Off (CTO) of Renewable Energies. Both, GZB and IGA, are jointly involved in multiple international Research and Education Activities on a European and global level.

The Coordinating Officer International Research and Education (CORE) is responsible for the scientific management of such international projects on behalf of GZB in collaboration with the IGA. Among such projects are the EU-financed GSSkills, SURE and GeMex. Other international projects are expected to be acquired. Duties and responsibilities to be covered by the CORE are as follows:

  • Scientific Management of International Research and Education Projects, focused on GSSkills (ERASMUS+), SURE and GeMex (H2020);
  • Networking with the EU Commission and international partner institutions;
  • Collaboration with the IGA-Secretariat within the Knowledge- and Technology Platform Geothermal Energy;
  • Consultancy to International Institutions;
  • Management of R&E communication media (e.g. Newsletter, Website, News);
  • Preparation of project applications reports, documentations and scientific publications;
  • Correspondence in english language.

We expect candidates with an academic degree (Master or University-Diploma), scientific reputation and outstanding competence and experience on the geothermal sector. Skills in english language have to be fluent in speech and writing.

The position will be remunerated according to salary group 13 of TV-L. The employment contract will be part time (75% / 29,87 hours per week) and will initially be limited to 31.10.2019.
