IFC-IGA Developer’s Workshops on Geothermal Exploration Best Practices in Izmir, Turkey from 18-20 Nov. 2013

In November 2013 the IGA Academy offered two developer's workshops and a field trip to Kizildere Geothermal power plant within the framework of its cooperation with the International Finance Cooperation (IFC). Workshop No 1 on 18 November 2013 focused on Geology and Exploration Drilling, Workshop No 2 on 19 November 2013 focused on Geophysics and Geochemistry. Workshop topics included geological plays, geothermal reservoir characteristics in Turkey, borehole geomechanics, well design, drilling technologies, seismic methods, resistivity surveying and electromagnetic methods, water-rock interaction, isotope and gas geochemistry of geothermal systems.
