German Geothermal Congress 2020 (Der Geothermiekongress – DGK)
This year’s German Geothermal Congress (DGK) will, in accordance with the current pandemic situation, take place digitally for the first time, 9th – 13th of November 2020.
The congress will extend its outreach across the geothermal community and address the full range of the energy research and energy industry. The lectures will be presented and discussed on a conference platform over five days (9th-13th of November 2020) between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (CEST).
In addition, there will be discussion forums and interactive formats on the specific topics, which will allow a broad exchange of experiences.
A maximum of 15 minutes with subsequent discussion are planned for a presentation. English presentations are welcome.
General lectures and keynotes will be available for streaming at any time during the congress. It is also intended to make the majority of the lectures available online after the live lecture is over.
We offer the speakers an introduction to the digital conference system and, if necessary, individual ad hoc support. Furthermore, we will provide the participants with a recorded version of the presentation upon request.
Young scientists are once again invited to participate in the “Science Bar”. This competition is addressed to participants who would like to present their bachelor, master or PhD thesis on geothermal energy to a broad professional audience. The best presentation will be awarded the Young Talent Award of the Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. by a reputable jury.
Speakers will receive a discount on the participation fee.
The ticket prices are as follows: 299 € standard rate, 199 € for BVG members, 99 € for speakers and 0 € for students (up to 29 years of age, in first degree, upon presentation of the certificate of matriculation).
A fully written version of the accepted paper should be published in the digital conference catalogue or media library of the congress for participants.
The abstract can be submitted to the programme via ConfTool (conference management system) until 30th of June 2020. ConfTool access at: https://www.conftool.org/geothermiekongress-2020/
